A 4-year B.Tech / B.E. / M.Sc. / MCA / Equivalent degree in any STEM discipline. Minimum 60% or 6.0 CGPA is required. Professionals with 10+ years of experience may be considered with 55% or 5.5 CGPA.
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in engineering, technology, analytics, IT, or related domains. (Experienced professionals transitioning into AI/ML, Data, Cloud, or Automation roles are strongly suited.)

This is India’s first M.Tech program focusing on Generative AI and Data Science, offered by IIT
Jammu.
The duration of this M.Tech program is 2 years. Cohort begins on January, 2026 (Tentative).
The M.Tech in Generative AI and Data Science program is open to graduates who have a strong
academic background in STEM disciplines, including:
1. 4-year B.Tech or 3-year BSc IT/BCA in any STEM field (such as Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Electronics, etc.)
2. A minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.0 in graduation for candidates with at least 2 years of work experience
3. For candidates with 10 years or more of work experience, a minimum of 55% or CGPA 5.5 is
required.

The admission process consists of the following steps:
1. Your application documents are carefully reviewed.
2. Appear for pre-screening test.
3. Pay application fees.
4. Your academic, work experience and entrance exam scores are considered during selection process.
5. Appear in Interview with IIT Jammu Panel.
6. If selected, you will receive an offer letter from IIT Jammu.
7. Complete the necessary formalities, you will be officially enrolled.

Yes, all core courses in the M.Tech in Generative AI and Data Science program are taught by the esteemed faculty of IIT Jammu, ensuring a high-quality education.
Campus Immersion is a unique component of the program that invites students to experience life on the IIT campus, engage in intensive learning sessions, and network with peers and faculty, enriching their educational journey.
Candidates are required to visit the IIT Jammu campus as part of the program. Four slots will be available
throughout the course duration (two slots each year). Each student must visit the campus once in the
first year and once in the second year, choosing from the two available slots each year.
Note: Students will bear their own travel and lodging/boarding expense will be paid directly to IIT Jammu.
Classes are scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, based on faculty availability.
Examinations will be conducted in person as per the academic calendar of IIT Jammu and detailed instructions will be shared in advance.

1. Examination Fee: ₹500 per credit, collected directly by IIT Jammu. Since this is a 60-credit program,
the total examination fee across the full duration is ₹30,000.
2. Immersion Fee: ₹5,000 (Tentative) per campus immersion, payable to IIT Jammu.
3. Travel & stay for immersion: Actuals, to be borne by the student.
