The program is the Post Graduate Certificate in Forward Deployed AI Engineering. The certificate is issued by the Continuing Education Centre (CEC), IIT Roorkee.
A Forward Deployed Engineer is a client-facing AI professional who works directly with enterprises to design, prototype, validate, and deploy AI systems that drive measurable business outcomes.
Unlike traditional software engineers who work in linear build cycles, FDEs operate in rapid iteration cycles—Discovery → Prototype → Validate → Ship → Iterate—owning deployment and business impact end-to-end.
The program runs for 3 months (approx. 85 learning hours) in a hybrid format with weekend live online sessions (2–3 hours each day). Learners should commit around 10 hours per week.
The tentative start date for the first cohort is March 2026.
All the sessions are held in a 100% live online format.
A dedicated support email ID is provided to enrolled learners for academic and administrative queries.
Candidates must apply online through the official admission portal by submitting their details and completing the required steps.
The application process has already begun. Seats are limited and offered on a rolling basis.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines with at least 50% marks. MCA, M.Sc., M.Tech., MBA (with technical exposure), and BCA graduates are eligible. Familiarity with Python fundamentals is required. Freshers may apply, though 1–2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
